~Something Funny~

You truly know what is going on big in your house when your kids re-live an entire conversation that they have had with someone and it starts off with...."the girls are potty training".
Tyler had come home from riding last week and gave me the blow by blow(in complete Tyler fashion) of a conversation and when this person asked how his sisters were doing that was the first thing that came to his mind. I sure do love him!! :-))))

~We're Better~

So, we(Maggie & I) stayed home from church and slept most of the day....we are so much better. Thanks for all the get well soon prayers!

Now, we have to gear up for another crazy week. I just realized that this week we have something going on every night. The great thing is that we have Eric home with us all week. He has some meetings or something another this week which allows him to be at home...YEAH! Then, next week he and Keely head off to camp. They both are so excited to get out of town. I didn't realize how excited Eric was until today. He loves working with the children's ministry, so this will be such a blessing for him.

I was waiting to post this until I had pictures, but I haven't made it out there with a camera.....We have a new addition to the FARM, RANCH or COMPOUND...whatever you want to call it?? We have a new horse. He is Black with some white on him. His name is Doc. He and Ginger are now husband and wife;-)(not officially, but that does give me an idea??) Hopefully by this time next year I'll get to be a grandma to a new colt...preferably a paint. Ginger hasn't really liked the idea of having someone else out here, but is adjusting to the idea. Well, let's just say that when Doc wants to he can be very sweet and gentle, but in no time flat he shows his jealous streak. Today I was brushing Ginger and just messing with her and the next thing I knew he was charging at me literally right up to my face. He didn't hurt me, but wanted me to know that was his Ginger! The funniest thing was the look on Nan, Bop & Eric's faces......they all just looked at me and Doc and Ginger not knowing what to say or do.

Then, Nan & Bop have added to all of this fun some new goats. They are officially retiring the lawn mowers and allowing the goats do all of the work. It has worked out really nice. I told Bop the other day to not take offense, but I think the goats are better lawn mowers than he was. Of course, he just laughed and replied "none taken".

~Stomach ACHE~

So, here's the thing.....I kept singing this song all afternoon to my girls who were sick with a tummy ache:

"When you're sliding into first and you feel a sudden burst, diarrhea, diarrhea." (I'll spare you every verse.)

I know that you all are probably wondering why I am sharing this wonderful story, but the joke is on me....I HAVE THE DIARRHEA!??!

Then of course, the girlies are running around singing 'diarrhea....diarrhea'. In hind site I see that this wasn't the best thing to do, but I love watching the movie "Parenthood" with Steve Martin. That is where I heard the song for the first time and here I am at 33 years old singing it.

Once again, I am sure you will all be thanking me for putting this wonderful little tune in your head. ~:-))))

~Good Morning~

So, of course I can't sleep AGAIN!! Then I was hungry....shhhh don't tell anyone.....and the "Honey Bunches of Oats" were calling my name. They were loud too. "Renay...you know that this could really be your breakfast." I gave in and now am trying to figure out if I stay up does that really mean that I am a "midnight snacker" or am I just an "early riser"???
I am a true cereal junkie....I could and would probably eat every kind of cereal they make-the sweeter the better. Just like a kid...someone has to cut me off!!!!

Is this the makin' of an "Intervention"???

Seriously.....how many started singing "Oh Happy Day"?

~Something special is coming soon.....stay tuned!

~Oh Happy Day~

Have you ever had one of those days where you think back and remember something great that happened to you a few years ago? Not the birth of your kids or a marriage....but something that was life changing and you look back and think to yourself " what an awesome blessing....God took a hold of a situation and made wonderful things happen....doors were opened and the healing began."Then of course a wonderful song comes to mind:
Oh happy day....Oh happy day....When Jesus walked....so I really can't think of the words, but you get the idea. I really like to sing the "oh happy day" part over and over in my mind. That is a visual that I am sure you are all doing right now;-)))
Everyone sing with me.....Oh Happy Day......where's the lighter....keep on swaying!!!~r

~Can't Sleep & Rantings!!~

So, here's the thing....I have had problems sleeping for awhile, but now it is really starting to annoy me! I have watched the clock from 3:11 AM until now! Of course, by this point I have already started watching the news programs...needless to say I need to be completely aware of all the world's news. :))
I have been having a "racing mind" lately. Do you have that problem?? It stinks...you go to sleep, but you suddenly wake up with a list of junk in your mind.

On a different note..It's RAINING!!! YEAH!!!

FYI-When are they going to stop talking about the Ramsey case....it has been 12 1/2 years?!? It would be different if they would have some great new news, but not so much. BLAH...BLAH! What a horribly thing for any family to go through.

~Carri is home!~

~Yeah.....Carri is Home!!!!~
Our sweet friend has been gone for a 3 weeks.(It seems like FOREVER!!) We have missed her smiling face, as well as, her precious baby Layton! We are so happy you are home safe and sound~:-)))

~The Weekend Is Over~

Most of the time I am so excited for the weekends to come....Daddy is always home to relax with the family, but this one came and went with so much going on.

I have been leading this bible study on Monday nights that is about worry and stress and believe you me that it is one of the best ones I have done in awhile. It really has helped me to put some things in to perspective in my life that I tend to push to the side. Some of the "Trinkets to Treasure" sections in this book are too awesome not to share....here are a few:

  1. A Leaf.....Our days can feel as scattered as leaves. Rather than becoming a cluttered pile of dried leaves, drifting around with every breath of wind, we must become a fresh, new leaf, clinging securely to the branch. Is it time for you to "turn over a new leaf"?
  2. A Night-Light....A reminder that you don't have to be afraid of the dark, or anything else for that matter! You are precious to God, and He will take care of you. TRUST HIM!
  3. A Worry Stone...Normally, it's kept in the pocket and rubbed to release nervous tension. As Christians, we have no need of its calming effects. We can leave our smooth stone behind, knowing God can handle our worries. Rather than carrying them with us, we leave them at His feet.
  4. A Comb....When stress creeps into your life, and your emotions become a tangled mess, call upon the Lord to work through that rat's nest in your soul. After He's calmed your fears, eased your anger, and unkinked your pride, you'll be left with the quiet and gentle spirit that is so precious in His sight.
  5. A Building Block...as you build your life, consider carefully what you choose as a foundation.. If the tower you've been building has begun to teeter and topple accept God's invitation to rebuild.
  6. A Smiley Face...A cheerful reminder that even the most frustrating event in your day can become a source of merriment to a gal with a good sense of humor. Learn to let go of building tensions by whispering a prayer and giving a giggle.

~This is a Women of Faith Study Guide Series...."Living Above Worry & Stress"~

As we go further in the book I'll post more of these little "Trinkets to Treasures".

Father God,

Thank you so much for all of your blessings....thank you for my wonderful family.....thank you for our church, as well as, friends that are so dear to us. Father, I pray that you be with each of us this week as we go about our daily lives keeping our focus on You and all that you have done for each and every one of us. We love you and give you all the praise and glory.

Jesus Name.....Amen!
