Most of the time I am so excited for the weekends to come....Daddy is always home to relax with the family, but this one came and went with so much going on.
I have been leading this bible study on Monday nights that is about worry and stress and believe you me that it is one of the best ones I have done in awhile. It really has helped me to put some things in to perspective in my life that I tend to push to the side. Some of the "Trinkets to Treasure" sections in this book are too awesome not to share....here are a few:
- A Leaf.....Our days can feel as scattered as leaves. Rather than becoming a cluttered pile of dried leaves, drifting around with every breath of wind, we must become a fresh, new leaf, clinging securely to the branch. Is it time for you to "turn over a new leaf"?
- A Night-Light....A reminder that you don't have to be afraid of the dark, or anything else for that matter! You are precious to God, and He will take care of you. TRUST HIM!
- A Worry Stone...Normally, it's kept in the pocket and rubbed to release nervous tension. As Christians, we have no need of its calming effects. We can leave our smooth stone behind, knowing God can handle our worries. Rather than carrying them with us, we leave them at His feet.
- A Comb....When stress creeps into your life, and your emotions become a tangled mess, call upon the Lord to work through that rat's nest in your soul. After He's calmed your fears, eased your anger, and unkinked your pride, you'll be left with the quiet and gentle spirit that is so precious in His sight.
- A Building Block...as you build your life, consider carefully what you choose as a foundation.. If the tower you've been building has begun to teeter and topple accept God's invitation to rebuild.
- A Smiley Face...A cheerful reminder that even the most frustrating event in your day can become a source of merriment to a gal with a good sense of humor. Learn to let go of building tensions by whispering a prayer and giving a giggle.
~This is a Women of Faith Study Guide Series...."Living Above Worry & Stress"~
As we go further in the book I'll post more of these little "Trinkets to Treasures".
Father God,
Thank you so much for all of your blessings....thank you for my wonderful family.....thank you for our church, as well as, friends that are so dear to us. Father, I pray that you be with each of us this week as we go about our daily lives keeping our focus on You and all that you have done for each and every one of us. We love you and give you all the praise and glory.
